If your pump stopped working, make sure to check your electrical outlet if it needs to be reset. If the electricity is working, the pump may be either clogged or need to be replaced. Schedule a maintenance visit for us to diagnose the problem, and replace the pump if necessary
Typically ponds that are cleaned each year won’t have an enormous amount of muck on the bottom. If it has been 10-20 years since the last cleaning, there will be excessive muck and debris that will need to be pumped to the desired location, usually in a wooded area where it won’t be seen. If requested, debris and muck can be hauled for an additional fee.
Yes, in most cases your fish will be fine as long as the pond is running so that they are getting plenty of aeration. You may be overfeeding the fish, and the extra fish food is becoming excess waste. Or, it may be time for a UV bulb to be replaced.
For each cleaning, we will set up a holding tank that will be netted and have an aerator running to ensure plenty of oxygen for your fish during their stay. We are careful to collect the scavengers of the pond, such as snails and tadpoles too! Once the pond is cleaned, we are careful to acclimate the fish to the water prior to returning them.
We typically will drive anywhere from 60 miles within DC, MD, VA parts of WV & PA. We also travel towards the Chesapeake Bay, servicing the St. Michael’s area.
